About the Department

The mission of the Easley Fire Department is to save lives and protect property. The department strives to provide the citizens with the most effective and cost conscious fire and emergency services protection, and be receptive to the needs of the community.

The Easley Fire Department operates 3 stations staffed with one Captain, one Lieutenant, and seven firefighters per shift. There are 3 administrative personnel, 27 shift personnel, and 25 volunteer firefighters along with support personnel. We cover the city limits of Easley, and the Easley Rural Fire District.

We also provide automatic aid to neighboring departments as part of the Pickens County box alarm system. Common calls for service are included, but are not limited to structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, and medical calls. During 2017, we responded to 2,285 calls for service.

Why Easley Fire Department?

The Easley Fire Department seeks individuals who are looking to join a team of dedicated firefighters who love what they have been called to do. Firefighters here want to make a difference in people’s lives and in the community.

We are looking for volunteers who have training through the South Carolina Fire Academy or are willing to acquire training for firefighting operations. Also, we are looking for personnel who are willing to serve in a support role. Easley is a great place to work and live.

The need for volunteer firefighters will always be a necessity in order to help ensure that citizens and visitors stay safe!

Other Volunteers:

  • We have fire service explorers in lieu of junior firefighters.

Other Benefits:

  • Pay based on point system, mileage reimbursement, and a fireman’s fund retirement account based on years of service.
