Belleville Volunteer Fire Department is located in Calhoun County in the midlands of South Carolina just North of the town of St. Matthews.The Belleville Vol. Fire Department was founded in May 1982 by members of the local crime watch who saw a need for fire protection in our area. At that time, there were only two other fire departments in the county. We started with one converted fuel tanker/pumper that was kept in a members yard. Within a year we had a fire station built and two more trucks. All this was done using funds raised by the department and without the aid of any tax money. Today we have two fire stations, with a training/meeting building at the main station and 9 trucks.
