About the Department

The City of Lake City Fire & Rescue Department is located at 233 N Acline Street, two blocks north of Main St. The Lake City Fire Department consists of 11 full-time, 5 part-time, and 21 volunteer personnel, including Fire Chief Randy Driggers. At this time we operate out of one station and we have a total of 9 apparatus in service at this time. They included 4 pumpers, 1 service/rescue, 1 aerial, and three support vehicles. In 2017 Lake City Fire Department obtained an ISO Class 2 insurance rating. The Lake City Fire Department provides multiple services to our citizens including fire suppression, 1st responder, vehicle extrication, fire safety programs, and much more.

As a volunteer member with the City of Lake City Fire Department you will be called upon to test yourself on a daily basis. It offers a challenge unlike anything that you will ever do, and gives you a sense of satisfaction that is unmatched. You will be offered the latest training and up to date course pertaining to the fire service. Medical First Responder training will also be offered to all volunteers. This training will help you advance and excel not only in the Fire Service but in your personal life as well. As a volunteer member of LCFD you will also receive incentive pay for coming to calls. You will get the chance to learn from experienced personnel and to absorb their knowledge and wisdom that has been gained by years of fighting fire. The camaraderie and friendships that you will form in the Fire Service are bonds that will last forever.
